The Marine Renewables Industry Association Ltd is a company registered in the Republic of Ireland (CRO no: 468863). The Board deals with the corporate business of MRIA which is a not-for-profit organisation and the shares are held by the officers. The Board members are

The Council
The Council is appointed by the Members and is the prime policy making body of the MRIA. It normally meets every two months. The dates and locations for the 2012 Council meetings are as follows:
- March 2 - Commissioners of Irish Lights, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin
- April 27- Naval Base, Cork
- June 28 - Cuxhaven, Germany
- September 7 - TBD
- October 19 - Dublin - to coincide with the International Ocean Energy Conference
- December 7 - Belfast
